“An in-ground pool has become a very hot commodity during COVID,” says listing agent Sarah Maged. People are renovating their outdoor spaces but wait times are long. “It’s rumoured that in-ground pools are back-ordered until 2023.”
This premium Westmount Boulevard property, which measures 48×115 feet, has a pool with a slide and backs on to a street of exclusive homes with huge wooded lots, she says. The backyard offers private landscaped space for relaxing, barbecuing and dining.
The 3,226-square-foot brick home was built in 1989 and was renovated throughout after the current owners bought it in 2009. It has a custom kitchen, which was opened up to the family room. The latter has a gas fireplace. The house also has oak floors throughout and two walkouts to the backyard. More than 100 pot lights are featured throughout.
The foyer has a cathedral ceiling. A separate library is also on the main floor.
The primary bedroom suite has his-and-hers closets and a designer five-piece ensuite bathroom.
Two bedrooms, one with a four-piece ensuite bathroom, and a recreation room are on the lower level.
There is a two-car attached garage and parking for two cars on the double driveway. Several parks dot the neighbourhood, including one with a dog park. The Uplands Golf and Ski Club is also close to this tree-lined street.
There was a lot of interest. “There were 24 showings in two days and six offers. It appealed to young families trying to get into the area. It has a great central location, a two-minute drive to Highway 407/ETR and Highway 7, great public and high schools a five to 10-minute walk away and Promenade Mall a 15-minute walk away,” says co-listing agent Ian Maged.
Regarding pools in general, he says, “We sold twice as many pools in the past year as we have in the past 20 years. It used to be that people asked how much it would cost to fill in a pool; now since COVID, pools are in demand for many of our clients. And good listings with pools are drawing multiple bids. We even have a rental listing that is now getting more attention than usual due to the pool and large back lawn.”
